The General Assembly of the Jordanian Forum for Environmental Planning held its annual meeting on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Century Park Hotel in Amman, where a new Board of Directors was elected.
During the meeting, the outgoing board presented the administrative and financial reports for 2025, highlighting key achievements as well as the challenges encountered over the past year. The forum continues to play an important role in advancing urban environmental planning and improving the quality of the built environment in Jordan.
The Forum is a registered non-governmental organization operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment. Its scope of work, as defined by the 2018 Associations Classification Guide, focuses on urban and built environment planning. This includes the development of buildings, public spaces, streets, infrastructure, public parks, and transportation systems, aiming to create a balanced and sustainable interaction between people and their urban environment.
In accordance with the association’s bylaws, five members were elected to the Board of Directors, along with one reserve member. In its first meeting, the newly elected board assigned roles as follows:

The newly elected board expressed its commitment to strengthening the Forum’s role in promoting environmental planning, supporting sustainable urban development, and contributing to policy dialogue in Jordan.
